While taking the wheels off a chair may only require you to pull them off gently, in other cases, you may need to unscrew the base of the chair first. So, make sure that you have a screwdriver at hand before you start the task.

#2: Don’t Toss The Wheels Immediately In Water:

The first reflex that you may have when you see how dirty the wheels of your office chair are is to toss them in water. However, this is something that you should avoid doing. Whiles you can and should bathe them, it shouldn’t be done at this stage.

The truth is that soap and water won’t remove all the debris that you will find on the wheels. In the worst scenario, the debris will be glued to the wheels and will be a lot harder to remove it.

So, in order to remove the debris, simply use your fingers. This can be especially helpful for the big pieces such as clips, papers, or even stickers. When your fingers can’t reach or remove any more debris, just use tape.

#3: Wash The Wheels:

Now that you removed all the debris from the wheels using your fingers and some tape, it’s time to toss them into the water. Just use some soap and let them rest in there for about 5 to 10 minutes. Then, use a scrub brush to remove all the debris that was still glued to the wheels. When you are done, just leave them to dry well.

#4: Reattach The Wheels:

Now that the wheels are all cleaned and dry, it’s time to attach them again to the office chair. Make sure that you put them in the proper place and in case you need to attach the base of the chair, ensure that the screws are tight.

Put the office chair in the right position and try it out. See if the wheels are now working as they should.
